Anna Kennedy – UK – Is founder of Anna Kennedy Online and has two adult sons who are on the autistic spectrum. On Wednesday March 4 she is to take part in the BBC’s People’s Strictly for Comic Relief. She is 1 of 6 contestants who have been chosen for the programme, all of whom are ‘everyday heroes.‘ The episode will document her big reveal.
We have covered many stories about Mrs Kennedy and the fantastic work that she does, including her Autism’s Got Talent Show and Wear it for Autism event, where caregivers within the autism community are celebrated.
Anna’s dance partner on the BBC show will be Robin Windsor and her mentor, Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning in EastEnders.
Mrs Kennedy told:
“I have watched it since it first started. I’m a big fan and I’ve been trying to get tickets for the show for God knows how long. It’s bonkers – I’ve gone from trying to get tickets to the show to performing on it!”
On March 11 the dance show will be broadcast, and Mrs Kennedy will perform the Charleston and a group dance number.
The winner will be announced on Red Nose day, March 11.
Anna Kennedy told Autism Daily Newscast:
“I am having the best time and I am definitely in the Strictly bubble. It is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness about Autism. Who would have thought that at 55 years old I would be dancing with a professional dancer, the fastest Charleston on the biggest show on TV. Its bonkers but I am loving every minute!”
We wish Anna Kennedy the best of luck and would like to thank her raising autism awareness and putting Autism firmly on the map.
